Meeting of Ambassador Nabil Ben Khedher with Dr Andrew Murrison, newly appointed Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (London, 21st May 2019). The meeting was an opportunity to highlight the good momentum in Tunisia-UK relations and to acknowledge the continuous progress of our bilateral cooperation that is expanding rapidly in many areas such as high education, trade and security.

Ambassador Ben Khedher highighted the challenges facing Tunisia as a young democracy in a difficult regional context and the current actions and reforms implemented by the government to consolidate the democratic process, revive the economy and create jobs. The meeting provided also the opportunity to reiterate the importance of maintaining the frequency of high level consultations and visits. It was agreed to hold the next session Tunisia-UK bilateral forum in London at a date to be agreed soon. Ambassador Ben Khedher exchanged also views with Minister Murrison on regional issues in particular the ongoing crisis in Libya.
